An orientation sensor is built into the i900. When rotated, it does this fancy transition whereby the display shrinks and expands back to fill the screen in a different orientation, just like the iPod Touch.

Nokia's 1508 cell phone

    * Lightweight candy bar design

No idea on how much this will cost, but it will definitely be very popular in emerging countries where the basic pay isn't enough to purchase a high end gizmo, let alone a fancy cell phone. I trust this one will be able to take its fair share of knocks as well without any problems.

Gigabyte M528

Gigabyte M528 UMPC PricedGuess the Gigabyte M528 has finally been slapped with a price tag, retailing for approximately $750 in Taiwan when it is released there late this July. The features have not changed since it was unveiled at Computex 2008, so you can breathe easy knowing that the 800Mhz Silverthorne/Poulsbo (Menlow) processor, 800 × 480 resolution touch screen display, 3 megapixel auto-focus camera and 4GB SSD, GPS navigation, and 3G connectivity will be retained. Each purchase will also come with the full suite of applications including Firefox 3, Skype, Pidgin IM, and OpenOffice 2.4 among others. Are you hankering after one of these, or do you prefer the Eee PC?

Dell E and E Slim laptops

dell_e-slim.jpgthe Inspiron Mini is not the only Eee PC-beater from the house of Dell; the company is also planning a new E-Series of laptops that can compete directly with Eee-type of machines. The E series is a 8.9" mini laptop that will take on Eee 900, while its bigger sibling E Slim (12.1") will take on the mightier Apple MacBook Air. Like Inspiron Mini, the E series is designed for emerging market, and will be good buy for youths and mobile professionals.

The E series is a kick-ass machine for travelers who are looking for "mini" companion. Its based on Intel's Diamondville processor (1.6GHz) and offers 1GB RAM, 16GB flash storage, and 0.3 megapixel webcam. As for connectivity, it supports 802.11g wireless, Bluetooth, WWAN, and WiMax. The laptop offers approx five hours of battery juice and comes pre-loaded with Windows XP / Linux operating system.

Its elder sibling, the 12.1-inch E Slim, is based on Intel Silverthorne (1.3-/1.6 GHz) processor. It offers 1GB RAM, 8GB flash storage, 40GB HDD, and same other specs as its younger sibling. On the upped-end, the firm approximates its battery life at 9 hours.

The E and E Slim will come in August with pricing for E starting at only $299, making it very attractive to potential mini-notebook buyers. So if you're planning to buy an Eee or MSI Wind, you better wait for sometime.

Nokia's 8800 Arte Pink

Nokia 8800 Arte Pink
Nokia's 8800 Arte Pink will definitely cost you a handsome amount - approximately one week's wages for a top soccer player like David Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo, retailing for €85,000. Who else but Peter Aloisson has the audicity to come up with such an extravagant design, boasting 680 white and pink glistening diamonds in addition to coating the entire handset in gold? Strange to see how lopsided the world has ended economically, with the rich being filthy rich while the middle class and poor suffer as they try to figure out how to get by the month without missing meals or skipping a mortgage payment. Underneath the diamond studded exterior lies standard Nokia 8800 specifications.

Over 10 million One Seg Phones Sold

Over 10 million One Seg Phones SoldSharp has achieved phenomenal sales for the One-Seg cell phone - over 10 million of such handsets have already been shipped in Japan within a couple of years of its release. Bear in mind this number is just from Sharp alone - what about all the other One-Seg cell phone manufacturers in Japan? This means the whole nation there is nuts about getting their favorite TV shows on-the-go, but apparently Sharp has the upper hand when it comes to snagging the hearts (and wallets) of the people there. Would you like to see One-Seg technology being made available in your country?

    * 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX with turbo cache VRAM
